... born Essex, England, 1941) has devoted his career to the creation and promotion of live performance electronic music in a wide variety of ways for more than fifty years. In 1967 he became one of the first students of electronic music on the new course at the Royal College of Music, London, taught by Tristram Cary.

Since leaving the RCM in 1995 he has worked with many of the leading improvisers, particularly Evan Parker and his Electracoustic Ensemble. While he focuses primarily on the real-time transformation of other musicians’ sounds, he also uses voice, percussion, home-made instruments and found objects as sources for his Signal Processing Instrument.

Casserley’s instrumental approach to live computer sound processing is the hallmark of his work, which is documented on many CDs; he has performed and given workshops throughout Europe and in North and South America, Asia and Japan. Current collaborations include Jean-Michel Van Schouwburg, Philipp Wachsmann, Trevor Taylor, Gianni Mimmo, Martin Mayes, Nicola Baroni, Martin Hackett, Pat Thomas, Dominic Lash, Jeffrey Morgan, Harri Sjöström, Yoko Miura, Mia Zabelka and Viv Corringham.
He is a regular member of Oxford Improvisers.

Une poésie définie comme création en acte (Poïèsis et Praxis). Il travaille sur l’interaction entre la poésie à lire ou à entendre, les arts visuels (peinture, sculpture, installations), les arts sonores (musique écrite et improvisée, instrumentale, vocale et électroacoustique) et les arts du mouvement (danse, chœurs d’action). Depuis 1975, plus d’une centaine d’œuvres pluridisciplinaires créées, dont trois commandes de l’état Français. Responsable des séminaires d'improvisation et du collectif d'improvisation musique-danse au Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon de 2007 à 2010, Formateur Musique-voix-mouvement au Théâtre du Ring Toulouse à partir de 2015, Maître de recherche en musicologie : L’improvisation comme esthétique de la république, Docteur en étude et pratique des arts : La possibilité d’une œuvre.

Il travaille depuis de nombreuses années sur le thème de la mémoire, celle des lieux, des pierres, des « vibrants » humains, animaux, végétaux qui ont un moment partagé ces espaces que le temps a façonnés, signant l’impermanence et la force de la transformation perpétuelle qui mène à la vie.
Un travail ininterrompu « d’atelier élargi » avec des expérimentations multiples pour affiner le propos ...l'engagement vers une œuvre plurielle : un contrepoint de formes textuelles, visuelles, musicales, autonomes et complémentaires, servi par des concept(s).

Ms. Lisk’s history as a painter informs the substance of her improvisations which contain references to rhythmic structures while maintaining a fluid, suspended continuity. Having heard and been inspired by Jazz, Classical music. (for example, the music of Thelonious Monk, Eric Dolphy、Toru Takemitsu, Masahiko Togashi), took classes taught by Masahiko Sato, Takashi Kako
and attended a workshop by Takehisa Kosugi. Later took lessons from Yoshio Suzuki.took class by Naruyoshi Kikuchi at Eiga Bigakko.

"I think it’s like we’re traveling on parallel paths to a destination. We communicate with each other by feeling and instinct. Personally, I take in sounds not as musical notes or chords, just as energy or vibration. I put several tones into our musical field and watch the chemical reaction. It’d be a kind of adventure. I always try to open a window so that we can reach a new world."

... erhielt mit sieben Jahren ihren ersten Violinunterricht und begann neben ihrem klassischen Studium, bei Alexander Arenkov am Konservatorium Wien in Jazz- und Rockbands zu spielen. Anschließend studierte sie Kontrapunktik und Harmonielehre bei Kurt Schwertsik, elektroakustische Musik bei Dieter Kaufmann und Komposition bei Roman Haubenstock-Ramati an der Hochschule für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien sowie Musikwissenschaft bei Walter Pass an der Universität Wien.
Seit ihrer ersten Veröffentlichung Somateme auf der Berliner Edition RZ setzt die österreichische Violinistin und Komponistin Live-Elektronik und andere innovative Spieltechniken in ihrer musikalischen Sprache ein, um Klang und Geräusch als physikalische Phänomene zu entdecken, die auf den Möglichkeiten der De- und Rekonstruktion des Violinklangs basieren.

Als Kuratorin gründete Mia Zabelka 2009 das Klanghaus Untergreith, ein Zentrum für Klangkunst und interdisziplinäre Kunst in der Südsteiermark, das viermal jährlich das Festival Klangzeit ausrichtet. Seit 2009 ist sie auch künstlerische Leiterin von PhonoFemme Vienna, einem internationalen Festival im Bereich experimenteller Musik und Sound Art von Frauen.
2015 wurde sie Präsidentin der Society for Sound Art, Free Improvisation and Experimental Music Austria (SFIEMA). Seit 2019 ist Mia Zabelka Vize-Präsidentin der Austrian Composers Association. Weitere internationale Kulturprojekte, die Mia Zabelka als Koordinatorin geleitet hat, sind PHONART – The lost Languages of Europe (2010–2012): Internationales Netzwerkprojekt mit Partnern aus Serbien, der Tschechischen Republik und Kroatien, kofinanziert von der Europäischen Exekutivagentur für Bildung, Audiovisuelles und Kultur (Programm Creative Europe); ECHOES from Invisible Landscapes (2016–2018): Internationales Netzwerkprojekt mit Partnern aus Österreich, Kroatien und Slowenien, kofinanziert von der Europäischen Exekutivagentur für Bildung, Audiovisuelles und Kultur (Programm Creative Europe); sowie MiCS – Music in the Countryside (2022-2023), kofinanziert von der Europäischen Exekutivagentur für Bildung, Audiovisuelles und Kultur (Programm MusicAire - Creative Europe).
Mia Zabelka erhielt zahlreiche Preise und Auszeichnungen, zuletzt 2018 den Akademia Music Award für ihre im Auftrag des Musikprotokolls und des Österreichischen Kulturforums New York entstandene Komposition Für Pauline Oliveros und 2021 den Österreichischen Kunstpreis in der Kategorie „Musik“ vom Bundesministerium für Kunst, Kultur, öffentlicher Dienst und Sport.
Seit 2021 ist Mia Zabelka „ALUMNI Ehrenmitglied“ der „MUK – Musik und Kunst Privatuniversität der Stadt Wien“.

ABOUT S.F.I.E.M.A.:
Der Kunst- und Kulturverein SFIEMA bezweckt die Förderung von experimenteller Musik, die in frei improvisierten und komponierten Formen, mit akustischen, elektroakustischen und elektronischen Mitteln produziert wird. Seit der Gründung 2015 unter der Leitung von Mia Zabelka, Michael Fischer, seit 2016 mit Herbert Lacina soll SFIEMA internationale Plattform für freie Improvisation, experimentelle Improvisation, experimentelle Musik und Sound Art, ein Forum für neue kreative Entwicklungen sein.
