Barbara ALLI wurde in Ghana geboren und wuchs in Nigeria mit der Youruba-Kultur auf.

Seit 2004 lebt die Sängerin in Wien.
Die Geschichte von Barbara Alli als Sängerin begann als sechsjähriges Mädchen. Sie sang wo es ihr möglich war von früh bis spät. Ihr Talent als Sängerin wurde im Alter von 10 Jahren in einem Chor entdeckt. Als sie nach Österreich kam, sang Barbara in einem evangelischen Chor wo sie auch begann selbst zu komponieren. Sie nahm professionelle Gesangstunden und lernte Piano spielen.
Mit der Zeit inspirierten Künstler wie Fela Kuti, Angelique Kidjo, Salifkeita, Miriam Makeba, James Brown, Adele, Nina Simone und viele andere Barbara Alli ihre eigene Musik zu machen und ihren Stil zu finden.
